Wyandotte Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday, held on November 30, 2019, provided a great response for businesses, including Hoods Hardware on Northline and 19th.
“This is our fourth year participating in Small Business Saturday,” Patti Christie, the owner of Hoods, said. “We’re giving away a Yeti Cooler, $100 Gift card and we have the Mean Weenie Food truck outside that were giving coupons for.”
With everything in mind, they helped more than just themselves. With new and old customers coming in and out, they can now stop and get a great hot dog.
“I love supporting, and it's kinda like a double header cause I'm counting on winning the Yeti,” Carol Baldwin, a Hoods regular for 22 years, said.
She knows that coming in on any day would benefit the store; instead she came in on Saturday, making it a point to show support.
“Because of our location, it’s difficult for us,” Christi said. “But this day gives us the effort to pull people out of downtown and have people come to small businesses throughout Wyandotte, not just downtown.”
Hoods, being a part of Do It Best Corporations, is a family owned business for over 80+ years and is still independently owned.
