Baseball wins league game against Kennedy

Emma Rankine, Business Editor and Wendy Guzman, Reporter   Yesterday the varsity baseball team won a game against Taylor Kennedy 2-0. This game makes their league score 4-1.   The game started off slowly, with no runs being scored until the fifth inning.   In the bottom of the fifth inning, junior Jacob Gilbert hit a double which brought two players in, scoring the first and only runs in the game.   The team’s defense was their biggest strength, with minimal errors being made and no runs being scored against them. In addition, senior Matt Montroy pitched a one-hit game, helping the overall defense.   “We could have done better by scoring a little bit more runs, getting a couple more kids on base,” Montroy said.   The team plans on continuing their season as they started, and hope to eventually win the league title.
